Knowledge Base: Journals, Holdings, Subjects and
Terms
Working in new journals, holdings or
subjects in a locally installed version (Here taken from
EZB*)
- Start the Working In
System
- Start a search in the EZB
- Choose your library or Frei and/or a subject
category/Schlagwort.
- Copy the
whole! result list and paste it into
the working-in-system.
- Start the system after having put in library code
(code of the EZB!) and/or subject category code. If you don't choose a library
put in AAA as code. The codes for
subjects you receive there. Codes are put
in in minor characters without = , e.g.
veg for
vegetation science.
- The system shows in separated windows the founded,
the nonfounded, doughtful and identic hits and announces the number of hits
for each.
- After this you are suggested to click on the buttom
besides to continue the program.
- In a new window the whole knowledge base of the
system is displayed with all newly accessed items indicated by
+.
- If the system works in a local version and with IE,
you have to confirm ActiveX-alert. After this the files are updated and can be
immidiately used for a new search.
- In case you have supplied the system by new subjects
you have to open the files themen3e.htm and TH4e.htm and there to insert the
line >=xxx=xxx*x*in the subjects list. Replace the xxx by subject code and
subject name and x by code for subject group.
- If the system doesn't work with IE, you have to copy
the opened window with the whole database. Open the files
such1.txt and
such1a.txt and paste the whole copy
behind value=" . Then save the
files under such1.htm and
such1a.htm. So the database is
updated for the search system as well as for the
working-in-system.
* The system can easily be adapted to receive journal
lists from many other resources.
